Race for Life - supporting my Friend Eve

On Sunday I headed to Hyde Park to support my friend Eve and her mother who were running in the Race for Life 5k Run. I've been privileged to have friends and work colleagues who are empowering women and Eve is one of those women. She runs her own property development business, is a successful marketer, she takes a keen interest in politics (Elected Councillor in Southwark) and recently won a furniture design competition. Eve and I worked together about eight years ago and have stayed in touch ever since.

I was really looking forward to catching up with Eve and she had arranged for a group of friends to meet for a picnic after the race to celebrate their achievements. I was really keen to hear about the race, but thanks to modern technology, we were able to be with Eve every step of her race with WhatsApp.

Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life is a series of women-only events raising money for research into all 200 types of cancer.

We had a lovely picnic in the park, the sun was shining, the conversation was flowing and the picnic food was super yummy. I even felt inspired to join in next year, bring on the pink tutu's! #RaceForLive
