I started my social media career using LinkedIn in 2009

Using this platform as a source of revenue and lead generation while working at a financial consultancy company.

and since then

I've been hooked

The beginning

I started my career as a Window Dresser for a Women's Fashion Chain, using my design and creative skills to produce exciting Window and in-store Displays. I then took those creative skills and moved into Marketing, and in early 2007 I found the passion for Digital.

I honed my digital craft while living in London for 15 years, finding a passion for LinkedIn while at Jefferson Wells, I then started work for a Salesorce.com Implementation company which allowed me to expand my social media and digital knowledge. During this time I implemented a Facebook and Salesforce.com tool which generated new leads directly from social media. I then began working at global technology company, CSC, and created a programme of internal online and face to face social media training workshops, which saw a dramatic growth from employees engaging with the business and most importantly with customers.

"Podcast Co-Host for Poopology Podcast which brings together women of all shapes, sizes, backgrounds and colours to discuss the trials and tribulations of being a modern warrior woman. Special guests and regular friends will join host Eve Laws and myself as the co-host Claire Roper. We laugh, chat and giggle our way through discussions, from the 'shitty' to the lighter side of life."

At Condeco Software, a global workplace business, I was the Global Content Creator, and creating a range of content from infographics, thought leadership, ebooks and case studies. The biggest content was project managing the creation of the annual Workplace Research report, which brings together 750 global leaders to understand and evaluate the future of the workplace.

"Identified the need for employees to have a better understanding of social media and implemented global training sessions, focusing on LinkedIn. Face to face sessions inNew York and London, and online workshops for Sydney, Singapore, Paris and Frankfurt offices."

As a family, we relocated from London back to my home town of Otaki in 2019 and I began working as the Principal Communications Advisor, Digital and Design at Porirua City Council. I've created a digital strategy, which ncludes a strong focus on trolling and antisocial behaviour online and we work closely with the Mayor to highlight our guideline. I've enhanced our engagement rates on social media and focused content creation on video. I managed the Graphic Designer and Social Media Coordinator roles, I've created professional relationships with stakeholders across the business and work very closely with the web developer.

Invited to speak at ConferenNZ 2020 "Communicating New Zealand" conference, I presented "How to engage the under 25's on social media within the public sector". And I have been a co-host on an LGNZ webinar with Daniel Webster discussing how to navigate social media with a focus on establishing your strategy and guidelines to help protect yourself against online trolls.

"Working as part of the integral Communications and Marketing team, I managed the web and social media plan for Porirua City Council during the COVID-19 outbreak across New Zealand. Creating a fluid and real-time digital strategy for local Government."
