As part of the Women in Technology campaign — and aligned with a broader AI Voice Assistant strategy — I had the pleasure of inviting Tracey Groves, renowned technology and AI ethics expert, and Founder of Intelligent Ethics, to contribute a thought-provoking blog article.
Her piece, titled “The Ethical Consequences of Artificial Intelligence,” delved deep into the complex moral landscape of AI, asking crucial questions about how emerging technologies are designed, deployed, and governed — and by whom.
A Leading Voice in Tech Ethics
Tracey brought her expertise to the forefront, examining how bias, accountability, transparency, and trust must be built into every stage of AI development. She highlighted the very real impact AI has on decision-making in the workplace and society — from hiring algorithms to voice assistants — and asked us to consider what we risk when we don't pause to ask “Should we?” instead of just “Can we?”
Her article didn’t just raise awareness; it challenged business leaders, developers, and policymakers to embed ethics into innovation from the start.
Part of a Larger Vision
This blog wasn’t a standalone moment — it formed a vital chapter in the eBook “Is the Workplace Ready for AI Assistants?”, which explored how artificial intelligence is reshaping modern work culture. Tracey’s contribution served as a powerful reminder that technology is never neutral, and that diversity of perspective — especially from women in tech — is essential to building fair and inclusive systems.
Positive Industry Impact
Featured on the Women in Technology campaign landing page, Tracey’s blog was met with strong engagement from across the tech and ethics communities. It fuelled important conversations on responsible AI and helped further the campaign’s goal of elevating female voices in emerging tech spaces like artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality.
