As part of a wider strategy in 2018 exploring Artificial Intelligence, Virtual and Augmented Reality, I had the opportunity to research, write, and produce an eBook that asked one of the most pressing questions in modern business:Is the Workplace Ready for AI Assistants?

With the rapid rise of AI voice assistants in our homes — from Alexa to Google Assistant — this report examined how similar technologies are moving into the workplace and what that means for the future of work, productivity, and the human workforce.

Smart speaker with a dark fabric cover sits on a light surface. Green plant leaves in the foreground. Bright, clean setting.

A Forward-Looking Exploration

The eBook explored key trends driving adoption, such as:

  • The history and growth of artificial intelligence and voice recognition

  • The ethical issues around making voice assistants appropriate for modern business and society

  • The ways in which voice assistants are being used, and best practice around implementation

It didn’t just highlight technological advances — it explored how these tools impact people, workflows, and company culture.

Expert Insight from Tracey Groves

A standout chapter in the eBook came from Tracey Groves, AI ethics specialist and Founder of Intelligent Ethics. Her piece, “The Ethical Consequences of Artificial Intelligence,” explored the responsibilities that come with deploying AI — including fairness, transparency, and trust. Her voice added depth to the conversation and grounded the report in values-led innovation.

From Page to Practice: Demo’d Live at Customer Event

To bring the concept to life, the insights from the eBook were also demonstrated live at a customer event, giving clients a first-hand look at how AI voice assistants could function in real workplace scenarios. This demo helped ground the research in real-world application, sparking conversations and generating positive feedback from attendees who could see the immediate value and potential.

Designed for Impact

This wasn’t just a report — it was a strategic asset designed to:

  • Spark industry conversation

  • Support marketing and sales efforts

  • Position the brand as a thought leader in emerging tech

  • Inform workplace decision-makers at a time of major digital transformation

The eBook was supported by blog content, social promotion, and featured in wider AI and smart workplace campaigns.
