Five Digital Marketing Disruptions

The buzz word of the moment is Disruption; disruptions have been upsetting all industries for 100’s of years, the introduction of the motorcar or smartphones. And digital marketing is no different, I say bring it on, disruptions mix up the landscape and change the way marketing departments deliver their strategies to their audiences. One of the main disruptions which have changed the way we look at delivering content is the rise of DIY Digital Tools.

These tools allow all of us to create our own Infographics, Animated Videos, EBooks and Digital Images. I've used many of these tools myself, they allow you to take ownership of your content, and even if you’re not the most artistic person in the world, these tools give you the power to generate informative and innovative content, without the use and expense of creative design departments.

What effect has DIY Tools had on Creative Design Professionals?

Animated Video

These tools take away huge costs for businesses and individuals and allow everyone to create Animated Video. I’ve experimented with most of them and with a little bit of time and effort you can create your own cool and effective animated videos. PowToon, Wistia, GoAnimate and many others are all seriously disrupting this space with their online platforms.

  • PowToon have over 1 Million users who have created 1.9 Million PowToons

  • GoAnimate has more than five million registered users worldwide and Approximately 30,000 videos are generated weekly.

EBooks

There are several online platforms, such as FlipSnack, Joomag, Issuu and Flipping Book, which offer their users everything they need to easily publish online interactive magazines and EBooks, by either creating each publication from scratch or uploading your existing PDF's.

  • Over 25 million documents have been created using Issuu, and they have over 100 million unique visitors a month
